Thank You!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20

I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He’s brought me through. For if I’d never had a problem, I wouldn’t know God could solve them, I’d never know what faith in God could do. -Andrae’ Crouch

These awesome lyrics from the song “Through it all” written many years ago by Andrae’ Crouch, a gospel singer and songwriter, have resounded in my ears many times in my life whenever faced with problems. This song reminds me that God is not only The problem solver but will often use me, to either be a solution, or bring a solution according to HIS Power at work in me. And when I place my faith in God, nothing is impossible and nothing is too hard for me because He is in me and nothing is too hard for Him.

Most often upon receiving a gift, a most cordial response is “Thank you.” Yet we often do not see problems as a gift. Problems are most often seen as a nuisance, a hindrance, as “one more thing” to just ruin our day. But problems, when placed in the hand of our Mighty God are actually opportunities for our faith to come alive in great expectation of the power and demonstration of God in it and through us. Trials present opportunities for our faith to come alive in what God is able to do, according to HIS POWER at work in us.

Problems challenge our faith as well as strengthen our faith. Problems don’t necessarily feel like a “gift” but they teach us not only what we’re made of, but more importantly, Who we’re MADE IN. Problems are not meant to take you out they are meant to exercise your faith in Christ Jesus Who lives inside you.

God wants us to be so confident of His Presence in the midst of our problem, in the midst of our storm or trial so that without complaining, we can thank God for the mountains and thank Him for the valleys, and thank Him for the storms.

We often use the phrase keeping our “eyes on the prize” and Philippians 3:14 also speaks about the prize. For someone, “the prize” in their storm can simply be “Peace” or the prize might mean something different to each situation. But no matter the storm, we can thank God in the midst of the trial, for we will surely see God do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think.

Prayer

Jesus I thank you for every storm I face and for every storm you’ve brought me through. Thank you that through faith in God I see You do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE my asking and thinking according to Your Power at work in me. In Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen!
